Driftwood
Functional Sculpture
Resonance explores the meeting point between music, nature and sculpture. Created from reclaimed driftwood shaped by years of exposure to wind, salt and sea, the work supports the instrument without allowing it to dominate. Instead, guitar and sculpture become a single composition.
The flowing forms of the driftwood suggest movement and rhythm, echoing the unseen energy carried through sound. Empty, the sculpture stands as an independent work. Occupied, it becomes a collaboration between object, instrument and musician.
Originally commissioned for a rock musician in Sweden, Resonance reflects the belief that instruments deserve to be displayed as works of art rather than hidden away between performances.
Each sculpture is created individually from reclaimed driftwood selected for its natural form. No two pieces are ever identical. Every work responds to the unique character of the timber, making each an original.
