Part of the Asteroid Series, Asteroid II is an original assemblage wall sculpture inspired by the enduring relationship between the natural world and the forces that shape it.
Created from reclaimed driftwood gathered along Scotland's coastline, pewter, natural stone and layered acrylic, the sculpture combines materials that have each been transformed by time, weather and their own unique histories. Their contrasting textures create a composition that feels both organic and timeless.
Rather than illustrating an asteroid literally, Asteroid II explores ideas of fragmentation, balance and transformation. The work invites viewers to consider the connections between the Earth, the sea and the wider universe, leaving space for individual interpretation.
